ZOO VISITS WRAP UP 2023
The Bexley Education Foundation ended its 40th anniversary year celebration with a special gift of Columbus Zoo visits to each elementary school. The Zoo’s education teams brought a variety of zoo animals to Montrose, Maryland and Cassingham during the week of December 18th. Here’s what we heard about the visits from students:
Sunny the sloth was very cute. Did you know that sloths can hold a gallon of pee!
Animals that we think are dangerous can actually be very helpful to us.
An owl can turn its head 120 degrees!
Opossums are actually related to kangaroos and koala bears.
Sammy the penguin’s name is short for Salmon. The dots on his chest are unique to him, just like fingerprints in humans.
We learned so much and had a lot of fun meeting all of the animals!
