What is Planned Giving?
A planned gift is part of an overall estate plan that takes your needs as well as the needs of your loved ones into consideration, while helping support a cause or a charity that is personally meaningful to you.
How can I make a legacy gift to the Bexley Education Foundation?
The most common way of making a planned gift is by naming the Bexley Education Foundation as the beneficiary in your will. Other options are designating the Bexley Education Foundation as a beneficiary of your retirement plan or life insurance policy.
There are also other, more complex ways of setting up a planned gift including a charitable remainder trust or charitable gift annuity. Your attorney or financial planner may have suggestions that are best suited to your unique needs.

What is the Legacy Society?
The Legacy Society of the Bexley Education Foundation honors those people who have chosen to name the Bexley Education Foundation in their wills, trusts and other gifting arrangements.
Do you have a sample of bequest language?
The following language may help you and your legal counsel when drawing up a bequest that meets your needs:
For a residual gift:
“to pay the Bexley Education Foundation, or its successor organization, the residue (or share of the residue) of my estate for such use and purpose and the Board of Governors may determine for the benefit of students and teachers and those served by the Bexley City Schools.”
For a specific gift:
“to pay the Bexley Education Foundation,or its successor organization, the sum of $_________for such use and purpose as the Board of Governors determines for the benefit of students and teachers and those served by the Bexley City Schools.”
