The Crumbs
At Bexley Junior High in the 1950s a small group of girl friends decided we wanted to get together after school. We always had so much to talk about and we needed more time. So once a week we would meet at a different house. When one of the mothers heard the group was coming to their house, her comment was, “Are those crumbs coming here again? (She said there were always crumbs on the floor after the friends got together.) We loved the name and it stuck. We still refer to our friends as ‘the Crumbs’ as do our family members.
How lucky we were to have grown up in Bexley at what was a wonderful time. The Crumbs still keep in touch and visit when we can although a few have passed on.When we can, we have delightful long phone conversations. We never run out of things to talk about. - from Sallie Runck ‘55
