The Annual Fund for Excellence provides the means for BEF to make grants large and small for teacher-initiated projects that support all areas of the curriculum as well as the arts. BEF grants do more than enrich the educational experience in the Bexley Schools, they fill gaps and provide opportunities that impact the lives of students.
Like so many grant-making organizations, it has become increasingly important for the Bexley Education Foundation to be more flexible and responsive. One of the ways we have done that this year is by establishing three focus areas for grantmaking: support for instruction, mental health and wellness and racial equity and inclusion.
In addition, the amount for teacher mini-grants has been increased from $500 to $1,000 to ensure that teachers are supported in their efforts whether they are teaching remotely or in the classroom or both.
Thanks to gifts made to the Annual Fund for Excellence last year, BEF grants included the purchase of mobile hotspots and internet service for students without access as well as the purchase of 650 over-the-ear headphones for elementary students.
Because large-scale, in-person events like BRAVO! are questionable for the near future, gifts to the Annual Fund are more important than ever. Annual Fund gifts provide the primary source of unrestricted funds BEF uses to make grants and implement programs.
We hope that we can count on you to be “all in” for Bexley students and teachers this year. For more information, please contact the BEF at firstname.lastname@example.org of go online to bexleyeducationfoundation.org. Thank you.
