BRAVO! is where the Bexley community gathers to celebrate and support its outstanding public schools – schools that have earned national recognition for academic excellence. The annual event is organized by a volunteer committee who work for months to create an exciting and profitable evening of auction fun, food and socializing.
As the Bexley Education Foundation’s largest annual fundraising event, BRAVO! attracts a large crowd, usually 500 to 700 persons for a casual evening of fun, food and socializing − making it one of the largest events of its kind in Columbus.
The location of BRAVO! has varied over the years, having been held in recent years at the headquarters of DSW, Limited Bands World Headquarters and most recently at St. Charles Preparatory School. BRAVO! attendees include the parents of Bexley students, Bexley alumni and alumni parents, Bexley teachers and staff members and many Bexley community members.
The event features a variety of food “tasting stations” from local restaurants and a silent auction filled with a variety of items, including artwork created by Bexley students. Proceeds from BRAVO! support the Bexley Education Foundation’s classroom and district wide grants-making program that provides unique opportunities for Bexley students of all ages to explore the boundaries of What’s Possible. In 2016, BRAVO! netted nearly $120,000.
